Four types of cost
- The AI agent subscription and any additional usage.
- Connected software subscriptions, such as a CRM or data connection.
- Metered API requests, render credits, calling, or other usage charges.
- Human services priced per transaction or by another service unit.
A small example
| Item | Listed price | Budget separately for |
|---|---|---|
| Farmhand | $29/mo | Your AI plan and applicable data access |
| Relay | $29/mo | Your AI plan and required additional services |
| Unicorn TC | $399/transaction | Accepted single-side files and any additional agreed scope |
| RentCast | $0/mo for 50 API calls | Paid API capacity and overages |
| Docusign Developer API | From $50/mo equivalent | $600 annual billing and plan limits |
Do the arithmetic for your workflow
Farmhand plus Relay is $58 per month at the directory’s listed rates. Add your chosen AI plan and any other required fees. If you use Unicorn TC on two accepted single-side transactions at $399 each, the transaction coordination line is $798 for those files. That example adds to $856 before the AI plan, taxes, and other costs.
This is a budget example, not a bundle or a promise that all three products are required. Start with the task you want to improve and include only the tools and services it actually needs.
Watch the billing basis
A monthly equivalent can require an annual commitment. Docusign’s displayed Developer Starter rate is $50 per month with $600 billed annually. A per-user CRM price also changes as you add seats. A free API allowance can be suitable for evaluation while still being too small for a recurring workflow.
Questions to ask before paying
- Does this price include the API or MCP access I need?
- Is the amount billed monthly, annually, per user, or per transaction?
- Which limits could create overage charges?
- Does the required data need a separate approval or license?
- What will my actual workflow use in a typical month?
Keep the budget tied to a result
Track the work product and the effort needed to review it alongside the monthly spend. A cheaper subscription can be a poor fit if it lacks the data or operations you need. A more expensive service may include work a software connection does not perform. Compare the complete workflow before deciding.
